  • September Global Launch: The long-awaited revival of Capcom’s iconic samurai supernatural action franchise officially releases worldwide on September 4, 2026, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Samurai action fans, it is time to strap on the Oni Gauntlet once again. During Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live, Capcom treated combat fiends to an electrifying sixth gameplay trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, showcasing high-octane parry windows, demonic Genma clashes, and a newly updated playable demo available to download right now.

Marking the legendary franchise’s first mainline entry in over two decades, Onimusha: Way of the Sword drops players into early Edo-period Kyoto. Stepping into the geta of a young Miyamoto Musashi on his quest for supreme swordsmanship, players find themselves struck down by supernatural Genma forces—only to awaken imbued with the mythical Oni Gauntlet. Armed with spectral Oni energy and razor-sharp steel, Musashi must slice through demonic legions to defy his tragic fate.

The Gamescom trailer put Musashi’s fully awakened combat style on display, highlighting brutal Issen critical strikes and introducing two new intimidating Genma siblings: the wind-wielding Ifu and the thunderous Nadezuchi.

To tide players over until launch, Capcom has expanded the existing downloadable demo with a major content patch. The updated demo unlocks the Oni Hidden Village zone, letting players master directional parries against roaming fiends before testing their mettle in a showdown against the multi-phase boss Odotora.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword officially launches on September 4, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Toss Another Coin: The Witcher 3 Remastered Lands September 29 with Brand-New 2027 Expansion Songs of the Past

  • Free Next-Gen Remaster Upgrade: CD Projekt Red announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered launches September 29, 2026, offering a free upgrade for existing owners on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside day-one releases on Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net.
  • All Major Expansions Included: The Remaster bundles both acclaimed story expansions—Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine—straight out of the box at no extra charge.
  • Brand-New 2027 Story Expansion: Unveiled Songs of the Past, a massive new storyline co-developed with Fool’s Theory that brings Geralt to Dandelion’s hometown region of Letten, complete with new chain weaponry, mutagens, and dark curses.

Just when you thought you were finally done wandering the Continent, CD Projekt Red pulled off the biggest bombshell of Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live. The Polish studio has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered for release on September 29, 2026, while shocking the gaming world with a teaser for an all-new full story expansion, Songs of the Past, arriving in 2027.

Having surpassed an incredible 65 million copies sold worldwide, Geralt’s 2015 magnum opus is getting an extensive visual, gameplay, and performance modernisation co-developed with Yigsoft. The remaster brings overhauled textures, lighting refinements, and streamlined gameplay tweaks, bundling both massive story expansions—Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine—into one unified experience.

The real showstopper, however, was the premiere of Songs of the Past. Nearly a decade after Blood and Wine was thought to be Geralt’s final curtain call, CD Projekt Red and veteran support studio Fool’s Theory are bringing the White Wolf back into the field. The upcoming expansion transports players to the seemingly idyllic countryside region of Letten, the ancestral home of everyone’s favorite bard, Dandelion. Beneath the pastoral festivals and lush harvests lies an ancient, festering curse that demands a witcher’s blade. To take on these newly revealed horrors, Geralt adds a tactical chain weapon for wide crowd control alongside powerful new mutagens and dozens of narrative-rich side quests.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered launches on September 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Songs of the Past expansion scheduled to arrive in 2027.
